Christmas Day is the only day of the year we are closed. Every other bank holiday in the UK calendar, including the long Christmas to New Year window most competitors take off, we are running normally.

Why the bank holiday gap matters
The pest control industry has a quiet problem. Most firms are small operators, two or three vans, and they take the bank holidays off. The bigger national chains usually run a skeleton service or push calls through to an out-of-hours answering service that simply books you in for the next working day. By Tuesday morning your wasps’ nest has tripled in size, your rat has chewed through another cable, or your guests have already left a one-star review.

Pest pressure is not uniform across the year. Bank holidays sit in predictable hot zones for specific pest behaviour, and the closures most competitors take make the problem worse.
- Easter (March or April): wasp queens emerge from hibernation looking for nesting sites. Ant colonies become active. First flush of garden rat activity as outdoor food sources return.
- Early May bank holiday: nesting wasps establishing colonies in lofts and sheds. First serious wasp queen callouts.
- Spring bank holiday (late May): peak wasp queen pressure. Bed bug summer season begins as travel picks up.

Yes, every UK bank holiday except Christmas Day. That includes New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, the Early May bank holiday, the Spring bank holiday, the Summer bank holiday, Boxing Day, and the Scotland and Northern Ireland regional bank holidays. Why are you closed on Christmas Day?
It is the one day of the year we ask our technicians to be with their families. We re-open at normal hours on Boxing Day. If you have an emergency on Christmas Day, the safest options are to seal off the affected room, remove pets and food, and call us first thing on Boxing Day. We will be there.
Do you charge more for bank holiday callouts?
No. There is no bank holiday surcharge, no weekend surcharge and no evening surcharge on standard callouts. The quote we give you on Easter Sunday is the same one we would give you on a regular Sunday. Every job is priced on the visit, with a free quote on the phone first.
How quickly can you get to me on a bank holiday?

Do you cover commercial sites on bank holidays?
Yes. Commercial bank holiday work is a substantial part of what we do. Do you cover Sundays the same as bank holidays?
Yes. Sundays are a normal working day for us. The pest control industry as a whole has historically not worked Sundays, which is why we lead with our weekend cover. If you can call us on a Tuesday afternoon, you can call us on a Sunday morning.
