Professional Bee Nest Removal

At JG, we love bees! Honey bee colonies are relocated alive wherever possible, with experienced beekeepers on the team - and the same goes for bumble bees. Where a nest genuinely cannot be saved, usually because it is inaccessible and poses a serious risk to health, we tell you why before anything happens. Extermination is a genuine last resort, never the default.

JG Pest Control provides same-day response and emergency bee nest removal, including evenings and weekends, across many parts of the UK - every day except Christmas Day. We identify the species first, because the right answer for a honey bee colony, a bumble bee nest and a harmless masonry bee are three different things.

Bee Nest Removal - Ethical Relocation First

Signs You Have a Bee Problem

High Bee ActivityLarge numbers of bees in close proximity to your property would indicate a nest nearby
Bees Entering PropertyBees flying in and out of a gap in brickwork, soffit, roof, or chimney stack
SwarmingThousands of bees clustered in one area - they begin to cause problems when they swarm
Buzzing in WallsAudible buzzing from inside a wall cavity, chimney or roof space, indicating an established colony
Hive in CavitiesIf bees have built their hive in wall cavities, roof soffits or around the home, professional removal is needed
Honey SeepageHoney seeping through ceilings or walls from a large established colony - this can destroy plasterboard and cause damp

Important Information About Bees

If you are in close proximity to a nest or swarm, you are likely to be seen as a threat and stings can be expected. We recommend bee nest removal as early as possible. When bees decide to swarm or nest in your cavity walls, bushes, and roof soffits, it really is a good idea to call the professionals.

There are many different species, and misconceptions associated with them. While bees are not a legally protected species in the UK, JG Pest Control always attempts to rehome and relocate bees wherever possible. Even so, if they are proving to be a risk to health in the home or office, they must be either removed or, if access is difficult, exterminated.

JG Pest Control will always attempt to re-home swarms and remove bumble bee nests without harming the insect. However, this is not always possible.

Professional Bee Nest Removal

  • Fully trained in pest control and experienced bee keepers
  • Able to remove infestations including physical removal of swarms and hives
  • Effective eradication methods for non-protected species that have become a pest
  • Same-day service guaranteed

Removing Bees From Your Property

  • Never attempt to remove bees yourself - stings can cause severe reactions and anaphylactic shock
  • Swarm and nest removal - swarms are physically removed without harming the bees and re-homed
  • Hive removal - honey comb nests must be removed to prevent attracting other pests and causing damp
  • Extermination as last resort - powder or spray applied to entry points when access is not possible

Why Hives Must Be Removed

  • The honeycomb is made up of sugars that attract ants, flies, and other pests
  • Left in a cavity or ceiling, it will rot and cause secondary infestations
  • Honey can destroy plasterboard ceilings and cause damp problems
  • Hive removal is more involved than standard removal but prevents bigger problems

Bee Nest Removal - Common Questions

No - it is a common misconception, but no bee species has legal protection in the UK. JG still treats live relocation as the default for honey bees and bumble bees because of their value to the ecosystem, and exterminates only as a genuine last resort.
Usually, yes. Honey bee colonies are relocated alive with our beekeepers and live-removal partners, including full comb removal so the cavity is not left attractive to the next swarm. Bumble bee nests can often be moved intact. Truly inaccessible colonies are the rare exception.
For a clustered swarm, a local beekeeper can sometimes collect it. For a colony inside a wall, roof or chimney you need both skills at once: safe access, comb removal and repair alongside proper bee handling. That combination is exactly what our service provides.
A honey bee colony keeps growing, and its comb - full of honey and brood - causes staining, damp and secondary pest problems if the colony ever dies or absconds. Bumble bee nests die off naturally at the end of the season and rarely need action unless they are somewhere unsafe.
Same-day response is available in many parts of the UK, including evenings and weekends. We are open every day except Christmas Day.
